Hej Søren.

Nu er jeg gået i gang med at læse din serie, og synes det er et Genialt! projekt du har lavet, super smart, og at man kan bruge det som et Retail Product, synes jeg er super smart, så det bliver nemmere for os nybegyndere :).

Soren,

Excellent questions, and you give an entire course-worth of top advice in your one blog! But that may be the trouble: People are overwhelmed by the wealth of information, most don't have study skills and have no idea how to capture your full course-in-a-blog for future use! Terese, one of your commentators above, said she wants it in simple steps, while the comments of those that easily processed what you've given are from those who are already fairly adept at what you teach. This might have some bearing on why you got less response this time: Your great "course" of info is exactly what we all need, but those who need it most have the most trouble understanding (so they bow out) while those doing well are already familiar with what you offer, so they understand it better, but need it less!

Take this same info, break it down by levels, and offer links for the people who need it step-by-step, those who can grasp intermediate concepts but need direction, and those who just need the overall insight in order to do it themselves. What seems so simple to you appears vastly and maddeningly complicated to many folks with less experience. You're pouring a whole torrent of gold nuggets into the eager but frustrated hands of those who can only grasp a few pieces at a time.

I've been doing some mailorder chores quite successfully here in the Philippines for years so entering online business is very smooth. They both "thrive" on numbers, targeted mailing list, good copy, conversion and very similar in many aspects.

However, what separates the two are the "techie" things you run through in Online Marketing (website creation, uploading, javascript, etc).

It IS probably one of the major causes why less than 5% can show good result in their report card.

An eyeopener, thanks for sharing.

I want to start off by saying THANK YOU. I don't know how I missed the survey but wish I had taken part.

I would have been with the ones that: after more than 8 months, well maybe a year, oh, that's not quite true, over a year and no website to speak of, no blog that is worth anything, a computer filled to the hilt with every free or almost free program, software, ebook, etc. And as Mike 13th June, 2008 at 6:09 said about the "60+ emails a day", try 150 and some days more. Still quoting Mike, "Videos everywhere and too long...." "sales letters long …. no action(!!).
Without repeating anymore of Mike's post, it becomes information overload, and you start to feel like a perpetual student, only you are in grade school and they are teaching college level and/or leave very important parts out.

They tell you need to do this or that, only not how-to do THIS or THAT.

I have read both the post and the articles and look forward to all that is to come next.

I do have one comment on the article: Don't Laugh - After you do all that "sq pg., email ltrs, etc.", who do you send it to if you have no people to start off with? You hinted at it in your post, but not in the article. You said the next article will be on "Killer follow up series...."

So I do look forward to finding out where this fantastic squeeze page I will sit down to create will go, following your step-by-step instructions. I'm also going to check out your archives, I'm sure I will find some great stuff there.

Thanks,
Teresa

P.S. Sorry this was so long but I got excited in finally finding someone who cares about someone who wants to learn. My husband got hit with 2 types of cancers last year and it hit our finances like a ton of bricks. (BTW: he is doing better)
P.P.S. I like the way your blog is set up. Is this in place of a website?

Soren,

I have bought and read most of the trash that's out there and while some of it may be a poor attempt at keeping us in the dark, you're generosity and wealth of knowledge and experience keep goals and aspirations alive.

Much respect and appreciation,
Fernando

Thanks for sharing your fascinating results. Great stuff and ace presentation

A demographic breakdown would have been interesting. I suspect there would be a surpringly high number of silver surfers (retired and trying to avoid poverty) in the full-time online category.

In my case after 6 months, no list, no website, no blog, no products, overwhelmed by free stuff and paid-for systems, bogged down by 60+ emails a day, Videos everywhere and too long and woffly, sales letters rediculously long .... no action(!!). Knowledge in abundance, mental stuff getting sorted, delete button getting hammered, planning underway, goal to be in the $5-10k/month by the new year.

I would like to have seen the number of respondants somewhere to help me justify the validity of the information. It sounds like it may be accurate but being from an engineering background; I need to look at population to validate information.

I appreciate the fact you compiled the data and presented it and am looking forward to your thoughts for helping others. I have even created a link back to you on one of my lenses on Squidoo. Keep up the good work and Good luck!

Great poll Soren, and even better followup! I enjoyed reading this and gained a good amount of perspective which is important if you want to be an successful internet marketer.

It was interesting to see 1.46% make over 10,000 a month, which is more then people making 2500 - 10,000 added up together.
